Close-By Attractions Within Walking Distance


Pike Place Market: One of the oldest continuously operated public farmers' markets in the United States, Pike Place Market is a bustling hub of fresh produce, artisan foods, crafts, and unique shops. Don't miss the famous fish-throwing at Pike Place Fish Market.

 

Space Needle: Iconic to the Seattle skyline, the Space Needle offers panoramic views of the city, Puget Sound, and the surrounding mountains. You can literally see my house from there...and, thanks to the newly-installed glass floor, all the people 500 feet below you. Visit the observation deck for a breathtaking experience. If you're feeling spendy, grab a cocktail or a meal at the revolving restaurant at the top. Located at the Seattle Center, just a short walk to the monorail will take you right to the heart of the Center!

Chihuly Garden and Glass: Located near the Space Needle in the Seattle Center, this museum showcases the breathtaking glass art of Dale Chihuly. The garden features intricate glass sculptures set against lush landscapes.

Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP): A unique museum dedicated to pop culture, MoPOP features exhibits on music, science fiction, video games, and more. It often hosts rotating exhibits on iconic figures and moments in pop culture. Also located at the Seattle Center.

Gas Works Park: This park offers scenic views of downtown Seattle and Lake Union. It's a former gasification plant turned into a public park with interesting industrial remnants and one of the best picnic, playground, and kite flying spots in town. For a city surrounded by water, that's saying A LOT! If you can, we highly recommend grabbing a pizza from Lupo Fremont or grabbing some Caribbean sandwiches from Paseo for your Gasworks picnic.

 

The Fremont Troll: A quirky and unique attraction, the Fremont Troll is a large sculpture located under the Aurora Bridge in the Fremont neighborhood. It's a fun photo spot and Seattle classic. 

Woodland Park Zoo: This award-winning zoo is home to over 1,000 animals representing various species. It offers a family-friendly experience with exhibits highlighting conservation efforts. Located in Green Lake, the Zoo is a 15 minute drive or 30 minute bus ride away!

Seattle Art Museum (SAM): The Seattle Art Museum houses an impressive collection of artworks, including pieces from around the world and a focus on Pacific Northwest Native American art. [Walking distance from Hotel Vintage]

 

Seattle Great Wheel: Located on the waterfront, the Seattle Great Wheel is a giant Ferris wheel that provides panoramic views of the city, Elliott Bay, and the Olympic Mountains.

 

Seattle Aquarium: Located on the waterfront, the Seattle Aquarium features marine exhibits, touch pools, and educational programs. It's a great place to learn about the diverse aquatic life of the Pacific Northwest.

Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience: While the focus of the museum is on the Asian Pacific American experience, it also covers the shared histories of Native American communities in the region. The museum is located in Seattle's historic Chinatown-International District, home of the best of the best dumplings. Consider stopping for take out at Dough Zone and eating them at Hing Hay Park.

Kerry Park: For one of the best views of the Seattle skyline and the Space Needle, head to Kerry Park in the Queen Anne neighborhood. It's particularly stunning at sunset and just a 25 minute bus ride away.

 

Discovery Park, Lighthouse Loop Trail: One of the best of the iconic Seattle trails. This is a 20 minute taxi or an hour bus ride from Hotel Vintage. Your commute will be well-rewarded by exceptional bird sighting and water views. The entire loop is 4.5 miles (7.2 km) with very little elevation gain.

Tacos and Kayaking in Lake Union: Start your day by taking a taxi to Saint Bread Café, a delicious little cafe on the North end of Lake Union, just behind the University of Washington Medical Center. After your coffee, walk north 1 block to the Agua Verde Paddle Club where you can rent a kayak or paddle board to check out the house boats up close. End your morning with tacos at the Agua Verde Café.

 

Museum of Flight: Perfect for aviation enthusiasts, this museum displays a vast collection of historic aircraft, spacecraft, and aviation artifacts. It also includes interactive exhibits and flight simulators. The museum is a 13 minute or 35 minute bus ride away.
 

Whale Watching: Summer is prime time for catching glimpses of our Orca pods, sea lions, and other sea life that call the Puget Sound their home. Getting outside of the city:

Book a Day Trip to Mt. Rainier: Mount Rainier, also known as Mount Tahoma, is a stratovolcano and the highest peak in the Cascade Range, standing at 14,411 feet (4,392 meters). Visit the mountain in the stunning Mount Rainier National Park, known for its old-growth forests, wildflower meadows, and glaciers. Bainbridge Island: If you’re looking for a short getaway from city life, hop on a ferry and visit Bainbridge Island for a small-town vibe. Bainbridge offers a myriad of restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities in their quaint downtown. No car needed! Simply purchase a passenger ticket from Seattle to Bainbridge and hop on the ferry!

 

Victoria, BC: Hungry for more international travel? Seattle is just a couple of hours by car or boat from Canada. You can take the Victoria Clipper, the only direct fast ferry service between Seattle and Victoria, BC. The Clipper runs round trip once a day, departing Seattle at 8am and departing Victoria at 5:30pm, perfect for a day trip!
